Happy Birthday Oliver!!!

My sweet baby boy Oliver was born May 14, 2010, 7:59 a.m. 7 lbs, 11 oz, 20.5 inches long. My Dr ended up doing a C-section......so much for all the hypno birthing classes : ) Once inside the Dr said she was very happy she made this call because there was a large vein running through the placenta near the cervix that she would most likely have hit if she would have broke my water that could have caused a real emergency situation. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. My main goal was for the safety of the baby, not a natural birth. They all commented how unique my placenta was....they have never quite seen one like this. It was heart shaped. Maybe a symbol for all the love I have already for the little guy!!!

Almost there.........

Well tomorrow night at 8pm I will be admitted to the hospital to begin the induction process. I am currently 70% effaced, so they need to give me some medication tomorrow night to get the process moving along overnight for a Friday induction. It is a full moon tomorrow night, so anything may happen. After this stuff kicks in, it may be enough for my body to move along the process itself. Should prove to be very interesting.

Oliver was a good boy and followed the plan (although there has been a lot of concern over the last week he would come early). Tomorrow mom and I are doing a spa day....massages, manis and pedis!!! I am very much looking forward to this.

It is really hard to believe the day is almost here and in (at most) 48 hours I will be meeting the love of my life : )

Ultrasound and Dr appt today

So I had an ultrasound today. All is well and the baby is now measuring at about the 55th percentile, about 6.5 lbs. She thinks he will deliver in the 7lbs range....so no worries about an overly large baby from my gestational diabetes. Hooray!!! Additionally, with all of this carb and sugar cutting, I lost another 4 lbs this last week. Doctor not worried, me just happy there will be less to lose when I am done. Looks like at this point in time I have only gained 17 lbs total with the pregnancy. That seems crazy low!!! But as long as the baby is healthy, I am not complaining. I don't have any pics. When you have an ultrasound this late in the game, it is really hard to see anything good in a picture. The baby is too big. I did see his little wee-wee, so I have witnessed for myself now that he is definitely a boy : )

Two weeks from today I will get to meet my little guy. I can't wait!!

Everything ready as will be at home, just trying to wrap up things at work. I still have a feeling he may decide to show his face sooner. I will keep everyone posted. Ultrasound this Friday.
